It's Thistle in the Japanese edition and Sissel in the English one. The correct answer is obviously Thistle because it's based of his eye colour but the translators decided to double down and claim it's because of his his name sounds.
I can only assume they're contractually not allowed to change it

It's not at all uncommon for translators to change names if they would be too foreign/odd/unpronounceable in the target language, but this seems to be a rather silly choice, yeah.

In this case it's because his name is rendered as シスル (shisuru), and we didn't get his backstory or any color pages with him for quite a long time. "Sissel" is an understandable, but incorrect guess that the translators shouldn't be doubling down on, but I assume they don't have a choice at this stage.

For what it's worth, this doesn't happen super often nowadays, especially now that familiarity with Japanese culture has skyrocketed.

Well, I'm not talking about just Japanese, it happens for other languages too. The Dutch edition of Harry Potter changes all the English names to Dutch ones too, save for Harry Potter himself, for example.

Episode 14: The focus episode for Kabru, his crew and a little bit for Shuro's! I'm glad anime-only watchers have taken to them.
Correct me if I'm wrong but Holm is supposed to be vegetarian, right? Also I'm noticing Rin a lot more in the anime, her voice does wonders.

I was starting to wonder if the opening would stay the same for the whole season since some of the characters featured in it still had not appeared yet.
Definitely feels a bit weird to get a new opening this upbeat and silly after the show has started to take a bit darker turn, still pretty fun though.
Kabru would make for a great detective with how much he was able to deduce from so little information. He definitely is a lot more competent then his previous appearances made it seem, the way he delt with the corpse collectors was pretty cold.

At the very least Kabru and Laios are foils to each other. Kabru is an expert on humans and struggles with monsters, while Laios is the other way around.

I don't know if I'd call Kabru an expert, sure, he can read people better than Laios, but he also draws very poor conclusions about them. People rather disliked Kabru for that very reason early on, and I'm not sure that has improved.
As for comedy, well... that's still there, but it can definitely get darker. There will be a very dark joke about the cooking at some point, you'll know it when you see it.
