It all comes down to the loss. That's where he lived, renting a house with some of my best friends from childhood, which became some of his best friends. And now, less than two years after moving out there, it's where he died. It's where we last saw him. We saw his body there, just before they cremated it.
I visited them for a week back in September, just after finishing school. During, actually; I took my online final in that house and wrapped up my coursework minutes before we drove out to see a show at Red Rocks. And that was just the start of an incredible week. Going back, it was hard to shake all those memories.
We were asked to go through his things to see if there was anything we wanted to keep. I couldn't do it. I just sat in that house for hours, doing nothing, looking at as little as I could, feeling hellish until I could get a ride out of there. I figure I had it easier. I got to put distance between myself and the absence. My friends still live there.
There's more, but I'd rather not get into it. As for these next few days, I'm not eager to revisit that pain. I don't cope well with regular crowds, let alone grieving ones. But life moves on, and it's now, or it's too late.

I believe I'm still waiting on Pyxo in the Diner and Will De Regio at the fountain (both David & Henry/Joseph sides). I could probably throw something together for the latter if Bonnie still doesn't have much input.

More or less! If you're caught up on everything going on over at least the last few pages of the RP, and have looked over the rules
and sandbox page linked up top, you can drop in wherever you want and with whatever characters of yours you'd like to use, making sure to update the latter page with a short description and location.
Open plot threads, FWIW, include a character of mine exploring the Necropolis (and maybe about to run into some of Strix Obscuro's, depending. She narrowly missed the commotion about the hostile telepath Mael earlier).

Basically, if you have a character you're wanting to have interact with other characters, you check out the rules and the sandbox page that gives you a good background on the place and who's in it, then have a bit of a read through of the last few pages to get an idea of who's where and what's going on - I generally find it suffices to get enough to get an idea of what your character would hear/see when approaching the other character(s) - then write a post in which your character arrives.

...apropos of nothing, Adrienne is transgender. It hasn't been relevant up to this point and I would need to think about how to address it in a tactful PG-13 fashion in-prose, but I'm going to make the reasonable assumption that Aseyu—should she notice—wouldn't care, or maybe she'd broach the subject and they'd talk about it depending on how much of a deal they make of this stuff in Qorisa, culturally. Updated my last post with portions for Joseph of the Basement® and Joseph of the Lobby™, and I believe I'm all caught up, at long last. Still waiting on a response for David though, Will De Regio. Don't make me finish my drawings!

I'm not sure exactly what a slime cat looks like (but I know what one dresses like 
), so Joseph's reaction to Verden's appearance was a little nonspecific.

I'm going to work through my lack of motivation and procrastinating to get a post done, hopefully today.
Meanwhile, my assumption on what Verden looks like is a blue (common color of slimes) or green (cause nature), presumably transparent or slime textured, anthropomorphic cat.
