This thread is a metathread for Trope Repair Shop discussion. Things like TRS policy, what is needed in a TRS opening post, questions about whether a certain topic is TRS-worthy and questions about why a thread wasn't opened go here.
Some guidelines for when/whether to use TRS:
- If the trope is fine, but has some bad examples, feel free to clean them up or to start a cleanup project at Projects: Short-Term. Trope Repair Shop is for when cleaning isn't sufficient.
- If you think there's something wrong with the trope that systematically attracts improper examples, start a discussion at Trope Talk. Use a Wick Check to see whether there's an issue present (and if there is, what the issue is), and post the results on TRS Queue and wait your turn if a problem is present. The following methods are two possible ways to do a wick check (though not necessarily the only ways):
- You can go ahead with the Wick Check without a discussion if you know what you're looking for. While it's not mandatory, feel free to ask someone for help confirming that you got the issue and the numbers correct.
- Consult the Wick Check Project thread to collect evidence if you need help.
- If a wick check is too much for you, you can leave the issue at Tropes Needing TRS citing the discussion.
- Depending on a trope (or non-trope) in question, a wick check may be determined to not be required, such as for tropes that are not thriving (per the standards for trope health listed on the Wick page). However, there is no problem if you want to do one anyway.

Nobody has decided that, the description was short from the beginning.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupDue to having one trope as Related, which was admin-nuked.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupBefore that, it was even longer. (Obviously I don’t want to go back to those days.)
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project! It's not really longer if you exclude the part about Japanese culture.
If you want to change the description, that's outside this thread's scope. Description changes are a job for this thread.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Depends on what sort of changes are being proposed, though. That thread is only for changes that don't alter the trope as defined.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThat's what I meant, but I could have been more clear about that.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. So for a while I've been trying to get help with the Incorruptible Pure Pureness rewriting phase. Thing is, I don't actually think there's any solid way to make the IUEO stuff clearer than it already is, but really don't want to jump ahead without a single other troper weighing in on that concern. (Someone did post, but they noted a different issue with the description instead)
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessA slot's open and Comic Book Run is next on the queue but it seems like the wick check isn't done yet.
Mrph's on break rn due to COVID, so...
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessGo with Katanas Are Just Better then.
Did that.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI was thinking for a moment to open my thread on the threesome tropes but I felt that is less on an Issue than the trend of weapon tropes being sinkholed everywhere they are mentioned.
I made a note on Comic Book Run that it's on hold until the wick check is completed, but then I looked at how many wicks that trope's got and it's just 21. I thought something like that didn't require a wick check.
It likely doesn't, but if it exists, may as well complete it. It can still be helpful.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessNot sure how to go about doing this, but I'm thinking of removing One-Steve Limit from No Straight Examples, Please! and give it an outright Example Sectionectomy.
As it is defined, One-Steve Limit is a Tropes in Aggregate where no characters share names with each other (despite having very common names) to keep each of their identity unique. With it being No Straight Examples, Please!, most of the trope usage boils down to aversions where two or more people do share the same name. We already have numerous tropes for "characters sharing names as a joke or other for plot-relevant reasons", so listing "aversions of One-Steve Limit" is redundant to the former, but also Chairs when the shared names don't have any narrative significance.
@8816-7: The threshold for Starving is lower for tropes that are less than three years old. Comic Book Run's creation date is listed as April 2021, so its third birthday was just last month, so it almost certainly wasn't old enough to qualify as Starving when it was placed on the queue.
Also, since part of the problem is misuse, checking to see how much there is would still be useful.

What exactly is the threshold for Starving tropes? I checked the FAQ and couldn't find anything.
See Wick
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessYou'd need to check Wick.

Silver and gold, silver and goldThis may be out of pocket but I'm wondering if Recycled In Space should be greenlinked or something. It was made JFF a while ago and replaced with Recycled with a Gimmick but we never got around to the cleanup part. People still use it.

I dunno if this is the right place to put this but...
I'm okay with Panty Shot being definition only, but who decided, and specifically why, did they decide that the page be a three-sentence stub?
Am I that troper? Maybe, maybe not, the world may never know.
