I speculated last arc that in-comic yesterday would be the day Joyce has sex. That obviously didn't happen, but it feels like this morning is leading up to it. Joyce and Joe are in bed together, in their underwear, in full physical contact, being very comfortable. This is just the right circumstance for Joyce to whisper that she wants to do it.

There are three ways thing can go from there:

• Danny happens to open the door, killing the moment.
• Sal raps on the window to get her top back, killing the moment.
• Sex happens, but Joyce later gets upset that it isn't such a big deal to Joe, and drama happens.

I really hope the artist doesn't go with that last option, after Joe's managed some character development.

I heartily disagree, in part due to that being a longstanding social issue where women are driven into sex because "no one is going to believe we didn't do it, so you'd might as well" and in part due to my own prudishness, much as I acknowledge that the desire for them to bump uglies is a combination of people wanting Joyce to be a sexually liberated woman and in part due to prurient desire to witness the act.
