Zagreus would be fun, but honestly, the only difficult thing about him is that he suffers the same problem as Chosen Undead: how do you keep him dead? Every time Zagreus, ahem, "dies", he gets sent back to the Underworld no worse for wear.

I think with Zagreus any given death is within the parameters for victory, since he's set back significantly further per death. The Chosen Undead comes back at the nearest fire they've lit and continues the fight from there; Zagreus goes all the way back to the house of Hades and has to fight his way back up (after getting chided by his dad and Hypnos, and taking a moment to recompose and chat up his friends).

Yeah, just kill him once and it's down. He'd likely shrug it off and go do something else, Like Pit. He's died many times apparently before Uprising happened, Palutena sees them as happy accidents or stuff.

It's why Pit vs. Zagreus is such a fun match up because either one can die and still have a happy ending.

So what you're saying is, we could have the ending to Goku vs Superman 3 again for a Pit vs Zagreus episode.

I'm sold.

Pit VS Zagreus is still my single most wanted matchup for Death Battle.

Considering how some members of the team seem to view Pit I wouldn’t hold my breath on it.

It's less Pit and more Pit VS Zag they don't seem to like, I think? Probably because the fight itself is a stomp for Pit and Zag gives a chance to get some other characters on the show instead (e.g. Percy Jackson). That said, I still want Pit VS Zagreus.tongue

As far as revisiting Kid Icarus goes they did seem receptive to Dark Pit versus Lilith Aensland on their side Ballot Banter podcast, for whatever that's worth.

[up][up] There’s been some members that have noted how the research for Sora vs Pit left them very lukewarm to Kid Icarus as a franchise. Add to that how one of the members is very outspoken about loving Percy as Zagreus‘s opponent and that matchup doing decently in the Tournament of Champions means that unless they really wanted to do a Zagreus run back after they do that matchup, Pit himself is probably a one off for the show.

Yeah, as much as I really love Pit VS Zagreus (and some members of the team do like it), others have expressed little interest.

In any case, Zagreus does have to respawn at the House of Hades after death, and then make a long-ish trip back to where he died. If the battle was in the house itself, then maybe he could continue where he left off. But otherwise, I’d say it still counts.

He does at least still have Death Defiances though, which help.

You know what fight could have benefited more had if it had come out at a later season?

Doctor Strange vs. Doctor Fate.

With how much more they could have done, it really came out as them doing basic stuff (or at least it felt like it). Had it come out today, I don't doubt we would have gotten a far better product.

do you think they may set a patreon to finance the show?

They said going Indie is out of the question, so they are looking for a new home, or at least someone to finance for them. This month really should give us answers if it will continue or not.

Yeah, Doctor Strange VS Doctor Fate could definitely have benefited a lot from being produced later. While I wouldn’t say Scarlet Witch VS Zatanna or Phoenix VS Raven are favorites or anything, they absolutely do show what a high scale magic fight could look like in a way Strange VS Fate just didn’t.

Of course, most episodes would generally benefit from being made today (barring certain season 1 and 2 episodes that may have higher production today, but would be limited by more strict time constraints).

Yeah, like I wouldn't want to see a modern take on Iron Man vs. Luthor, Snake vs. Sam or Dante vs. Bayonetta because frankly, those are still perfect to this day and the shorter runtime would hurt them, especially the last one.

On You Tube, the team has expressed that “Good news is coming” that’ll be worth the wait.

Seems like a good sign.

Good news everyone, the next episode will be the long awaited series finale of Doctor Farnsworth versus Doctor Bosconovitch

...but seriously, that's actually great to hear if they're promising good news in advance.

Even if there is no season or anything for the show there is a chance it could come back but a different name which is possible in my eyes. But we will have to wait to know what that news is this weak.

Odin VS Zeus has been discussed, and was on the ballot, so they’re interested.

I think the funniest part of the discussion for that match was determining if Zeus could even kill Odin when it’s prophesied that he’ll only die during Ragnarok. And if Zeus just waiting for Ragnarok was a valid win condition.

Speaking of mythology match-ups, would Loki vs. Tezcatlipoca be too much of a stomp in the latter's favor? I mean, I know both are trickster gods and the former was a major figure in starting Ragnarök but the latter was involved in several world destructions in Aztec myth so I'd feel more inclined to go with the Smoking Mirror.

2[up]Like that is such a weird, but very understandable, death condition.

I can see the reason why they would start fighting, because Zeus doesn't like anything he can't influence, he hated the Fates because they weren't scared of him and he was paranoid of his fate too. Just seeing Odin, a similarly powerful deity like himself, would be enough for him to try and kill him.

However, Zeus technically would still win in the long run, as he never actually dies in his mythology at all, he could be overthrown and weakened, but he can't die, at least in the natural sense, he's got that type of Immortaliy. Odin is fated to die by Ragnarok by Loki's son, hell nearly all Norse Gods are, and they have always feared it because their golden age would end.

Even if it's a stats stomp from what I hear, Odin can't kill Zeus, and Odin is on a time limit, which means Zeus really could just wait for Ragnarok to happen, unintentionally mind you, he has no real way of knowing about it.
