I like 9 but my only concern is whether What If? is an adaptation or if it's more a spin off. The Thanos that dies via being cut in two is from another universe rather than being from an adaptation of Endgame.

Not against 9 by the way but if we want to be stricter with the term adaptation:
The top is Thanos' (fake out) death in The Infinity Gauntlet (the loose basis for Infinity War and Endgame)

9 isn't really an adaptation so yeah fine with 30.
This Image Is Not an Example applies. 9 is much clearer on it being the same character.

9 is clearer, because it's a closer visual contrast and more obviously the same character. What If? is a spinoff of MCU, so it can be considered as an adaptation of sorts.
i personally prefer keeping scarface or going with 30, but that is because im anal about preferring source adaptations/remakes

Not to be all "MCU lighting sucks" but I really do not like the lighting on the live-action Thanos pics.
The ratio on this is a little awkward but maybe we can go with something uncontroversial and public domain:

46 while it is with a different weapon, it is the still suicide which feel to similar to me.
46. Like said, a different suicide weapon is a fairly minor change in death compared to 9, and unlike 9 I don't think it's nearly as clear that it's the same character both times.
