Charlie is a Disney princess, small children will eat that shit up. Meanwhile, Lute strikes me as the kind of parent that is fine until the kid starts acting up, and then she explodes on them.

Lute wouldn't be a great mother. I basically see her as the Heaven equivalent of Evangelist mom that would drop and shame her kid at the drop of a hat if they show anything but contempt for sinners. Or anything deviant from the norm considering Lute's opinion on Charlie on Vaggie's relationship is clearly some sort of bigotry.

Probably would make for a interesting story though. A child of both Lute and Adam that legitimately doesn't get why their mom still insists upon them becoming a excorcist with her and killing sinners who they've never met before. Also might grow far more resentful towards Lute and the late Adam after they found out why Adam died.

But yeah, Lute's a sadist that would make Adam cringe at a couple points with her sheer bloodthirstiness. I really doubt she'd be a good mom. Overprotective at best maybe? But thats not saying much.

You know what I find funny? How some fans took one look at the frame of Vaggie being jealous of Emily holding Charlie's hands, and decided they should be a throuple instead of having shipping wars.

Lute as a parent is a strange case as far as I consider it.

If it is her own child, she will put it through the same harsh and unforgiving standards that she puts herself through, as it is her "flesh and blood" after all. Ruthless as a parent.

If the child is adopted, she could be considered much more forgiving and nicer, since it is not her flesh and blood and therefor, it's unreasonable to expect it to perform as well as she does, resulting in a more kinder form of parenting as she tries to train it the best it can perform.

It's just my interpretation of the matter, that's all.

...

How big is the Pride-Ring exactly? It can't be just Pentagram City, there's too many annual deaths on Earth for that.

Is it possible that it is the size of Earth's surface and all we see is the Pentagram City because that's where the plot is taking place?

[up] The only locations in the Hellaverse's Pride Ring we know for certain exist are Pentagram City (which appears to be Hell's capital judging by how it has stuff like an embassy to Heaven), and Imp City. There's implicitly a much larger region (something MatPat and the Sci-Fi Writers Have No Sense of Scale people consistently overlook), but we have no idea what other settlements are like or how big it is.

[up][up] Nifty feels more like a soul that completely adopted to a life in Hell as part of its fauna and gone a psychological full-circle that she's now operating on Blue-and-Orange Morality rather than the typical moral compass of "Good & Evil".

Ambush predator? More "opportunistic scavenger" like the cockroach she turned into when arriving in Hell. Living or dead, doesn't matter, it's all still food.

Something I found nice about Cannibals joining Hotel crew to fight the the Exorcists is that during Charlie’s Happy Day in Hell song they are only ones whose activities actually make her disgusted. I just think its neat how they are ones whom has she to ask for help (granted, it was Alastor’s idea) and ones who stand baside her.

The video argues that in contrast to most conservatives' reactions to the show, Hazbin teaches traditional values like redemption, forgiveness. And despite popular belief, the show doesn't glorify hell but actively makes it clear that's a horrible place to live in. Heaven is flawed but ultimately still seen as a good place to live in.

[up] Conservatives uphold tradition, and to him the show's morals are quite biblical and traditional so that's why it appeals to this guy.

[up] Given what I have learned about many conservatives, their importance on "forgiveness" is more an excuse to get people in positions of power to get away with shitty behavior and continue doing it. Which I don't think the show is going for. There's also the fact that heaven's leadership is framed as upper-class who don't want the lower-class joining them.

[up] That, and the ”upper class” being assholes and finding excuses to continue being assholes without consequences applies to Hell, too - It’s not like ONLY Heaven’s top brass are violent, murderous karma houdinis.

The trial revealed that most of the denizens of Heaven DIDN’T KNOW what their leaders were doing and are shown to be horrified and disgusted when the Exterminations were revealed to them.

...Ok, I have numerous problems with this viewpoint. First off, the show's Central Theme up to this point has been something like "The current status quo is a broken, easily-abused system which in many cases punishes innocent people and rewards reprehensible monsters, and only massive societal upheaval will be able to introduce any real justice", which is an inherently (and somewhat radically at that) progressive position, i.e. the definitional opposite of Conservatism (I know the terms "Conservative" and "Reactionary" are sometimes used interchangeably, especially in America, but as I have been given to understand "Conservative" is more "everything should stay the same and nothing should change" whereas being Reactionary is "new things are bad and we should return to the ways they were done before").

Second, it's pretty clear from watching the show for even a few minutes is that it is no way bibically conservative, either. Its interpretation of Bibical events would probably be considered heresy by modern Christians if it was for some reason claimed they were a true interpretation of scripture, and a work of fiction saying "forgiveness is good" is not anywhere near the same thing as it being aligned with Christian doctrine. Hazbin would be a "biblical" show if it's position was "everyone can be redeemed if they accept Jesus as their savior and abstain from sinning from that point on", whereas the show's actual moral compass is the very Secular "Everyone can be redeemed if they sincerely mean it and have good friends who will help them along the way".

Third, I acknowledge that it may make sense in context, but Michael Knowles being in the thumbnail makes me just not want to listen to anything this guy has to say, for various reasons.
