It does, IMO (the girl needs a wheelchair). Also, the image was approved via IP so I oppose pulling it without a superior replacement.

There are a lot of people who are wheelchair users who would be offended that them just being a wheelchair user is supposed to = tragic. But I think this image works well enough as if you tried cram all the info of the trope into an image it would be cluttered and I think the Kuleshov Effect lets you infer the rest in this case.

I think it's a hold over from when the trope was called Zeno's Race and I don't know if applies well now.

How's Visual Compression? I guess what it's going for, but the style is so minimalistic, it could have been original. Also the trope is when a work is adjusted to fit into a specific TV set format, which I don't think the illustration demonstrate.

It was original; it's on the Troper-Made page.

Is Impoverished Patrician clear? To me it just looks like two girls carrying sticks in fancy dresses, with no indication they're poor or that they were rich before. I see it more Cinderella like.

It was discussed before; I think it's pretty clear that they're getting firewood given that they're standing in the snow, despite fancy clothes.

Is the image for Early-Installment Weirdness fine?

Even ignoring the fact that Batman (and the The DCU) already has a page, it only shows what Batman used to be, with what he currently is being relegated to the caption.

Basically, it relies on the reader already being familiar with Batman

Was that in response to the post I made before I removed it?

Anyway, the image on the page I talked about appears to has been removed. Concerning that it was about a VERY sensitive and current topic, I just felt like it was a a bit potentially inflammatory, so I’m a bit relieved that somebody else shared the sentiment.

That, and I strongly suspected that somebody added it without discussion - That’s why I felt the need to ask.
