We don't seem to have a place to ask "should we add or remove this redirect", so here's a place for that.
(Redirect creation in Main/ requires asking a mod at the locked pages thread, but having some discussion behind the request will probably help convince them it's a good idea.)

You can put the misnamed page on the Cut List to request its removal.
Speak of the Devil is for summoning a being by saying their name, which never happened with Voldemort. The Taboo in Deathly Hallows comes close, but is actually The Scottish Trope because it didn't specifically summon Voldy.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I just moved Series.Hallmark Movies And Mysteries to Creator.Hallmark Mystery (the new name of the subject). Taking into account that the old page is in the wrong namespace for a TV network and has ~300 inbounds, should I redirect it to the new page or cutlist it?

Create Hallmark Movies & Mysteries to redirect to the new page while cutting Hallmark Movies And Mysteries?
Since Nekomimi means Cat Ears, should it redirect to Unusual Ears instead of Cat Girl?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Nekomimi may literally mean "cat ears", but in practice it means catgirl (catfolk) because this in turn means "person with cat ears and possibly other cat traits".
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. He Who Must Not Be Named as a redirect to Speak of the Devil doesn't sit right with me, either: not only is the trope namer not an example, as noted above, but it wasn't hard to find misuse from taking the phrase literally (i.e. to mean Unperson).
He Who Must Not Be Named: Alpha was such a huge stain in MIB's life that they not only locked all files related to him, but also have everyone keep their mouths shut about it.
I think Woodland Creatures should be redirecting to "Woodland Critters", given that's how most people refer to this particular group of animals (I even though that this trope is called this way).
(Btw, I am new troper here and this my first post on this discussion).
You mean "Woodland Critters" redirecting to Woodland Creatures. I think it's fine.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupHey!👋 So I've been thinking: since there are some gender-inverted alternative titles for tropes- like WomanChild for Manchild, Guile Heroine for Guile Hero, Cool Big Bro for Cool Big Sis, and so on- how about adding more gender-inverted alternative titles for other tropes? Like "Straight Woman" for Straight Man, "Straight Woman and Wise Girl" for Straight Man and Wise Guy (and even other variants, like "Straight Woman and Wise Guy" or "Straight Man and Wise Girl"), "Helping Grandpa Cross the Street" for Helping Granny Cross the Street, etc.?

Eat your vege-tables (┳━┳) and drink sum milkBear in mind that current guidance is that gendered redirects can only be used on Characters pages - so if it's not a characterisation trope and will be listed on the work page itself (or on Trivia or YMMV, If that applies to any of them) there's probably not much point.
@Mrph1 I mean, there's a lot of these tropes that could very well be (and, in fact, are) in Character pages. There's a lot of characters who've been described as Non Action Guys, Funny Guys and Straight Men in their Character pages and, in fact, describe their characterization. However, most of these tropes I've seen are single-gendered named, and I think there are also Non-Action Girls, Funny Girls (aka, comic relief female characters) or Straight Women (in fact, in the Straight Man page, it even says that "women in comic pairings have frequently played this role over the last few decades, usually with Women Are Wiser coming into play"). And I'm just listing the female Spear Counterparts, but there's obviously from the other side of the spectrum, too.

Eat your vege-tables (┳━┳) and drink sum milkSpecifically, they can only be listed as examples on characters pages. They're still free to use in descriptions anywhere, e.g.
- Some Trope: blah blah Alice Can't Hold Her Liquor.
So I'm in a bit of a predicament right now and I'd like some help with that. See, I originally was going to use the "Requests for page history moves" thread to move the history of UsefulNotes.Hillary Rodham Clinton to UsefulNotes.Hillary Clinton. I have no idea why her middle name is in the page's title - she's almost never referred to by her full name, so having her middle name in the title is superfluous.
However, I quickly realized the target page is a redirect. The OP for the aforementioned thread says the following:
And so I attempted to do just that. However, my cut request was declined. Thus, I figured I was doing something wrong. I attempted to ask in the "Cutlist - queries and challenges" thread if I indeed did something wrong - twice - but was ignored.
Then I remembered this thread exists, so now I'm coming here. My intent is to make a request to swap the pages so that middle-name Clinton redirects to middle-name-less Clinton. However, I'm honestly unsure if this is even the thread to make such requests, and if so, I'm unsure if they'll be able to move the page history properly.
I'm lovin' it. (My Troper Wall)@Twiddler Okay, could at least some of the Unisex Tropes I mentioned be used for gender-inverted redirects? Here's my list:
Some examples that already have gendered redirects:
- Manchild → Womanchild
- Guile Hero → Guile Heroine
- Cool Big Sis → Cool Big Bro
- Magnificent Bastard → Magnificent Bitch
- Can't Hold His Liquor → Can't Hold Her Liquor
- Cat Girl → Cat Boy
- Nice Guy → Nice Girl / Nice Gal
My ideas:
- Straight Man → Straight Woman
- Straight Man and Wise Guy → Straight Woman and Wise Girl / Straight Woman and Wise Guy / Straight Man and Wise Girl
- Non-Action Guy → Non-Action Girl
- The Funny Guy → The Funny Girl / The Funny Gal
- Boy Meets Ghoul → Girl Meets Ghoul (* cough * The Twilight Saga * cough *)

Eat your vege-tables (┳━┳) and drink sum milk(6) So when will this happen?
@Filip04 I don't know. I'm unable to create trope redirects because they need to pass from here, iinm
Edited by UzarNaimBer15 on Mar 19th 2024 at 4:47:43 PM
Eat your vege-tables (┳━┳) and drink sum milkI got approve from Amonimus. It's true that it's only one vote, but it's better than nothing.
@Filip04 Vote? Where?
Eat your vege-tables (┳━┳) and drink sum milkHere. If there's some support, the proposal can be moved to Locked Pages requests for mods to consider.
TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup@Amonimus Oh, okay. Thank you! 😁
Eat your vege-tables (┳━┳) and drink sum milkDid the Hillary Clinton move...
( x7) *shrug* I'm fine with Non-Action Guy and The Funny Guy proposed redirects. "Girl Meets Ghoul" for Boy Meets Ghoul is all right, too. Not so much on the various Straight Man ones — that's a preexisting phrase, and our trope page and Wikipedia are both clear that the character fulfilling this role doesn't have to be a man.
@𝕋𝕒𝕓𝕤 What about the "Straight Man and Wise Girl" one for Straight Man and Wise Guy? Since Straight Man is an existing phrase and stock character (therefore one could say "gender-neutral"), for what I'm seeing, "wise guy" is more of a TV Tropes term, since the foil to the Straight Man is usually called "the funny man, "banana man", or comic" (according to Wikipedia, at least). So maybe "wise girl" wouldn't be out of the blue, right?

Eat your vege-tables (┳━┳) and drink sum milk"Wise Guy" is a pre-existing term too, though.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I tried to make a redirect of "Iga No Kabamaru" to Igano Kabamaru, since some sites spell it like that. Then I found out that the page redirects there anyway in spite of the capitalized N. However, when I was making the redirect I accidentally typed Iga No Kagamaru because "g" and "b" are close on the keyboard. Can you please remove the Iga No Kagamaru redirect?
