in an epic example of hilarious in hindsight in fire emblem awakening there are characters who have hair, personalities and pronouns, and mention some of these traits to each other then in the following years it became a haha funny meme trend to say "of course you have blue hair and pronouns" to people with personalities, this is so hahahahahahahahah funny hahahah.

• Hilarious in Hindsight: Any Pokémon fangame that features the Sound type will become this if/when the Sound type is introduced in canon.

Hilarious in Hindsight: In Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie, at one point, Khalil describes the titular character as a "big shot". This becomes significantly funnier after 2021, where the term "Big Shot" was used as the subtitle of the 16th mainline Diary of a Wimpy Kid book.

Harsher in Hindsight: This whole thread became an example when I saw someone misuse Harsher in Hindsight the other day.

Harsher in Hindsight: My edit to YMMV.Fox Trot reverting a misuse of Harsher in Hindsight is this, as a mere four minutes later this thread was revived for the first time in over a month.

• Hilarious in Hindsight: An episode of Happy Days reveals that a woman wrote Sweetie Graffiti in the bathroom about Fonzie, whose real name is Arthur Fonzarelli. In Star Trek: The Next Generation, Picard is said to have carved the initials "A.F." into a tree.

Hilarious in Hindsight: Any use of the term "bucket list", after the release of the film The Bucket List.^{if you think you're missing the joke} The film invented the term.

• Harsher in Hindsight: In "He's Too Sexy For His Fat", Stewie tries to make Chris jealous with food, only to become so fat that he can't even lift an ice cream to his mouth. A much later episode would have him go back in time and introduce Kurt Cobain to Häagen-Dazs to stop him from committing suicide, only for Cobain to become so fat in the future that it's only a matter of time before he dies of ill health anyway.

Hilarious in Hindsight: In 1982, Kid Stuff records would release The Pac-Man Album, a collection of songs about the yellow fellow himself. One of these songs is a deliberately bad quartet piece sung by the ghosts. Years later in 2013, the show Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures would go viral because of how terrible the theme song is.

Harsher in Hindsight: In the Bluey episode "The Claw", Bandit, while pretending to be a sentient claw machine, jokes that he's "free" due to being childless. "Onesies", however, would establish that Brandy can't have kids but wants them.

Hilarious in Hindsight: UHF is now this after "Weird Al" Yankovic has become the subject of another movie.

• Hilarious in Hindsight: Moxie 2D's very name became this after another character named Moxie (albeit with an extra "x" in his name) got flattened into a pancake by a shark.

Hilarious in Hindsight: Jacob Anderson's terrible American accent in Guest Grumps is even funnier after he starred in Interview with the Vampire (2022) and played Louis de Pointe du Lac. Anderson's American accent in the latter work is actually quite convincing.

• Hilarious in Hindsight: The final scene of A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence features four or five slightly bloodied salesmen giving a thumbs up at the two protagonists, presumably to demonstrate how neither side needed to be lucky to have to consider Sweden's inflation costs being downplayed by the government. At the 87th Academy Awards, Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) won Best Director (among other things, including Best Picture for that year), leading director Alejandro González Iñárritu to remark, "Two Mexicans in a row...that's suspicious!" In a way, you could say that both him and the previous year's winner Alfonso Cuarón are both "in the blood", giving each other praise, and worrying about inflation costs even more now if they ever decide to sell the awards back to the Academy for a single dollar.

Hilarious in Hindsight: In "Weird Al" Yankovic's song "Wanna B Ur Luvr", he at one point compares his love interest to Venus de Milo. This became hilarious 13 years later, when Weird Al started voicing a character named Milo.

Hilarious in Hindsight: John Lithgow is best known for towering over most people at 6'4. So it becomes even funnier when he's cast as The Napoleon Lord Farquaad in Shrek.

• Kamp Koral: In the 2023 episode "The Taste of Defeat", Narlene licks soup off her foot and feeds it to kids. Later that year, Jhariah would release a song with the lyrics "while you're eating your feet".

Hilarious in Hindsight: Ghostbusters (1984) has a guy named Ray. The Princess and the Frog also has a guy named Ray.

• Hilarious in Hindsight: In The Patrick Star Show episode "Patrick's Alley", Patrick says "Who is the man in the purple pants?"

• Hilarious in Hindsight: The acronym for Five Nights At Freddys, which is FNAF, becomes this after the release of Friday Night Funkin', whose acronym is FNF.

• Hilarious in Hindsight: At the time, many probably found Mr Coconut's "elimination" in the Total Drama Island episode "Haute Camp-ture" absurd on the grounds that he was an inanimate object. Years later, there would be an entire genre of online content based around the concept.

Harsher in Hindsight: Bloxorz uses a red sky, eventually wildfires would break out in places like the Amazon and the sky would be orange, which is a shade of red

Hilarious in Hindsight: In the film Barbie as the Island Princess, Ro sings to herself "Could there be new horizons to share?" during one of her songs. Years later in 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released.
