So, how long before this feature is removed because the general troper body can't be trusted with it?
They're manually approving videos so you cant just upload videos willy nilly
New theme music also a boxI've attempted to upload a video for Visual Pun, see this. When I turn on the video, it says "The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported." and its feedback says "{"success":0,"data":[],"msg":"Error: No video id was recieved."}" I'm using ideapad Y700-17ISK LAPTOP-F 34 IKBR 9, Microsoft Edge as browser and Windows 10 as operating system.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Can we do this for works themselves? Say the individual radar or funny or scary moment pages for shows, or the character pages for example.
The floodgates have opened....
So these videos, are they the type that obnoxiously follow you down the screen or do they just stay at the top?
Ah, this is just what I needed for Motion Comic. since the articles can't post gifs, a video will do just fine.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.I sorta have mixed responses to this. Anyone can see any example whenever, it's like turning the site into a mini-youtube, and there's the chance the video or thumbnail could a spoiler for some so this feature seems pointless.

Your receipt. You can keep the freakin' change.@Piterpicher, looks like your video uploaded properly but the last step didn't finish for some reason. We are looking into it. In the mean time we fixed your video. Post here if it happens again
@Lymantria, I see your video didn't upload at all. Can you try again and post what browser/device you are using if it happens again?
I have a question: Is there an alert on your watchlist if a page has a video added?
Obviously with an image, the code has to be edited in anyway, but for videos, they're being uploaded to a sort of widget at the bottom, so....
EDIT: Also, how does copyright work? Is a short clip of something any different to a single screenshot/frame?

TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerTo stay safe, I would use less than half of the work. For example, Flowers of Romance uses slightly less than half of the Lamput micro-short.
It works! Yes! Though a PM from a developer suggested to move my video to Literal-Minded, so I did.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)The feedback function doesn't let me use spaces if I access the pop-up through the video pop-out.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand! Its at the bottom so at least I do not have to see it. I have worries about this being a slippery slope into TV Trope Youtube (especially when the next site overhaul comes) but I can live with its current form.
FYI the tab is currently misspelled as "Video Exampes"
Can I suggest the front page be changed so that the new video examples go closer to the bottom, just above the podcasts? It breaks a pattern with the layout of the other newest changes as it currently is.
SoundCloudI have to say: the interface for this is pretty well designed, to the point where it stands out against some of the ancient tech we still have around here.
Also, so far the submissions have been of good taste. Since we will moderate all of them, I don't foresee any major problems.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Do videos need to have sound?
Sound would be preferred, but I don't think we have a fixed rule about it yet.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yeah, I don't see any immediate problems either. I seem to remember Fandom pages with videos at the top also having a big disclaimer that the video in question was forced on them by higher-ups who don't involve themselves with the individual wikis or something to that effect - a problem we shouldn't have, since it's actual tropers making the videos, and having mods to actually approve them should overcome issues of low-quality video dumps.
Am I missing something, or do the videos not directly link to the work pages?
I like the concept, but have a few suggestions:
- Maybe put them on a separate page instead of on the bottom of the trope page; I'm assuming having a bunch of 2-minute long videos might take longer to load, and some of them are going to contain spoilers, so keeping them separate would prevent issues.
- Allow the title/description to link to the source the same way that images currently do.
Also, what exactly are the copyright implications of this? I'm assuming that 2-minute clips would largely fall under Fair Use since they're meant for illustrative purposes, but that's never stopped large companies from trying to shut stuff down. I'd hate for, say, Disney to set its sights on TVT because they don't like the fact that we use MCU clips or something.

Reaction Image RepositoryYeah, maybe a "Video Gallery" subpage would be good. That way if people want to see the videos they can go to the page with all of them, but people with less interest can just avoid them.
