Not just your tie, your pants as well.
Wowza, Arceus got a ton of buildup but this, the next main game(s), just outta nowhere! Wonder why they did that?
^Main series games have released every 3 years for a while. We were due for another one. Sword and Shield were 3 years ago; this didn't "come out of nowhere".
I cannot express in words how much I adore Fuecoco.
Maybe not the right phrase, but this certainly was a lot more "casual" an announcement than the Arceus one.
Wow, this sudden.
Fire Starter for me.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I was hoping for Arceus DLC so Gen IX could get another year in The oven, but oh well.
Starters are weird but growing on me a bit, especially Fuecoco (even if I consider it one of the worst starter designs I've seen). And it being open world peaks my interests... though I have questions whether it is true open world like Bot W/XCX/Horizon/Bethesda games/Wind Waker, segmented open world like Legends/Monster Hunter World/Xenoblade 1 and 2/KHIII, or a glorified route like the Wild Area.
Still, I'm gonna hold off on it because I've still got caution from 3 of the last 4 Pokemon games, but I'll at least keep my eyes on it. That, and Xenoblade 3 releases like two months before this one
I'd rather the region be based on a Latin American country than Spain, because we just got another European-based region in Galar.
Told you guys we'd be getting gen 9 this year. Why do you think PLA came out when it did?
So, not really impressed so far. Graphic quality looks poor, architectural style is too generic European to be interesting, starters are weird. Except for the cat, which is a generic cat pokemon
Open-world bit is potentially interesting, but I'm not sure how they can really pull it off without breaking a lot of things
Wait, why is this an important detail? Shouldn't we just be able to customize them away?

I think Sprigatito is the cutest Grass-type Starter ever, but that's probably because I love cats a lot, haha.
Some things I'm wondering right now.
- Scarlet and Violet. Those seem like colours suited for royalty. Is it possible that our Legendaries will be linked to royalty somehow?
- The logos for "Scarlet" and "Violet" look different, and I don't mean the colours. It's like the font for Scarlet looks kinda old-fashiony and Violet's looks… futuristic or something (not sure what the right word would be).
Might be my first time ever to pick a Grass type starter during the first run. That cat is just too cute!
That Fire Starter thing on the other hand....
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianLets not judge the starters by their first forms.
I mean, there's been a few times where people did that, only to change their minds once the final forms were introduced.
Yeesh. I haven't even gotten Sword and Shield. I'm still playing Heart Gold. I'm so far behind.
One Strip! One Strip!Wow, Gen 9 is here already? I'll echo what was already said and assume it snuck up on me because I had no interest in playing any gen 8 games so time just flew by from my perspective.
Still, more new pokemon isn't a bad thing, just that the official releases aren't my thing anymore. Looking forward to seeing these new Pokemon in romhacks.

Man I gotta laugh at these names. I used to be roommates with a married couple and when they divorced they had more kids and the woman had a daughter named scarlet and the male had a kid named violet. Guess I know who is getting what already
…Hasn’t Pokémon always been open world?
well, not in quite the modern definition I guess. Which is being able to visit everything without technically being forced to find a specific tool for it I guess?
Secret Signature> …Hasn’t Pokémon always been open world?
Pokemon games have always been big on having explorable world yeah, its been a selling point along with collecting pokemon.
New theme music also a boxI'll echo what I said in the general thread and say that the human character models threw me off. Felt far more akin to Detective Pikachu and New Pokémon Snap than anything else. I can certainly get used to it, but its weird to see these human designs in the main games now.
As for the rest of the trailer, it looks neat. They're actually calling it open-world this time, so I expect a more seamless overworld than the segmented regions of Legends: Arceus. Looking at the starters, though... I like the grass kitty, and pompadour duck is growing on me, but this is the first generation where I have no love for the Fire-starter. That gator looks like such a dork.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonRandom guess: this Gen’s Pokédex will end at #1000.
Oddly enough, I'm not as hyped for these games as I was for previous ones - I didn't even remember that the direct was on until I looked up TV Tropes. I'm guessing a combination of burnout and finding other interests.
Of the starters, Sprigachito is the cutest one for me, although the other two are cute.

How much do you want to bet that the dorky Fire starter evolves into the most badass Pokemon of the generation, like the next Incineroar or Inteleon?
“Now! Let us engage in the art of deduction!”
Red is my favorite color and scarlet is my favorite shade of red so I'm definitely not complaining.
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.
