I miss Goemon.
I remember back when I had the N64, I didn't have a memory pak for it, so I couldn't save my data. This basically meant that when I wanted to play, I had to leave the system on day and night and only play that game... but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
I really miss it. It had such a fantastic soundtrack.
"That we continue to persist at all is a testament to our faith in one another."Damn, Iggy's Reckin' Balls is a name I haven't thought about in, like, a decade. Getting beloved classics is cool, but it's the deep cuts that I appreciate the most from these updates.
Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition rated by the ESRB.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Huh, so that's what Pyoro was hinting at! Something similar to NES Remix.
Isn't that thing absurdly rare? IIRC James Rolfe did a video on it.
Think the last thing Nintendo World Championship we have ever gotten was back in 2017.
And anyone remember the Championship mode in NES Remix 2 and Ulimate NES Remix?
Wait isn't this just NES Remix?
Right, there's only around ~90 of the regular cartridges and ~25 of the gold ones (all of which were participation or giveaway prizes). I don't think it's the rarest game out there, but it's among them and usually upheld as the holy grail of collecting Nintendo games.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI have the feeling that this is probably a new game, not a port or remake of an old one. The ESRB's description makes it sound that way. It even describes the use of swords and arrows, which sounds like NES Zelda 1 is part of the collection. And that game wasn't part of the original cartridge!
So what would a Zelda 1 challenge be?
5 rooms of Blue Darknuts and Blue Wizzrobes with just the wooden sword.

Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. The NES Remix games were a neat idea. Glad to see Nintendo seems to he continuing with that.
Hopefully we get an SNES version, too.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is free for Nintendo Switch Online members until May 9th.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Oh neat.
I own it already. But neat.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?My only idea on bringing Pushmo to Switch would be a compilation of all three games + Pushmo World all in one package, all in the graphics style of Pushmo World.
Me when I learned that we are getting Switch ports of the remake versions of the first three Neptunia games the same week as Thousand Year Door:

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."It's going to be an interesting Direct for sure.
I'm expecting mostly ports again or stuff that's been finished for a while.
I doubt they would want to release anything too major and have people asking why isn't it on the Switch 2?
Re: June Direct
Add DLC for existing Switch games to that list. Are there any likely candidates for either paid expansions or mention-worthy free updates? *speculation hat on* How about bonus levels, a wonderflower level in Princess Peach Showtime and a costume level in Super Mario Bros Wonder?
Re: next console
Nintendo's communication of "announce that there will be a console announcement later this fiscal year" has the same energy as couples who talk routinely and rationally about their plans for the future to then have an emotional marriage proposal as a "surprise" (which is actually a smart thing to do, because real life doesn't work like a romance novel).
What do we expect from Nintendo, both from their continued communication about the next console, and from the system itself? I know a lot of Nintendo fans hope for more hardware power and support for grown-up capital-g Gamer games, but Nintendo probably still sees their consumer base as at least partially consisting of families with younger kids and otherwise more casual gamers who don't want to pay an exorbitant amount of money for the new system.
How does TV Tropes handle new console release cycles? *baby troper questions* Will there be a new forum thread? A new page in the Platform namespace? Do we wait for that until we have a name (or at least a code name) for the new system?
"He betrayed the Staaarks" is not the only problem here.In regards to the hardware numbers: Nintendo actually surpassed their forecasted sales for the fiscal year by a few hundred thousand, even after bumping it up from 15 million to 15.5 million.
I am super curious about their projected sales for the new fiscal year: 13.5 million units. If they manage to hit that, it will squeeze past the Nintendo DS to be Nintendo's best-selling console and be within 5-6 million units of surpassing the PS2 to be the most successful console ever.
I have no idea how they're going to pull it off though. On top of whatever software is releasing in the back end of the year, I feel like they need to do something hardware-wise to hit that target: either a price drop or a new model.
Edited by RacattackForce on May 7th 2024 at 11:34:00 AM
With the successor likely coming by March at the earliest, a new model is unlikely. Price cuts seem like the most obvious choice, especially since the holiday season is likely going to be undercut by everyone saving up for the successor.
Outside of that, the only thing that could make the holiday season better is a possible Pokemon remake in the works for the holiday.

Crossing for the Cruis'n games. We got a port of Blast, why not bring in USA, World & Exotica too?
